It gives us great pleasure to announce that Marina House has survived the (potentially first round of) flooding.  Myself, my wife and newborn returned to our home on Wednesday to find the soi and our local district dry and in the process of clearing up.  At present Marina House is still in the process of regaining our rooms from our "flood relief" residents from the local soi and we will offer them as much time as they need to get their homes safe again.  Early next week we expect to have a number of rooms becoming available on the 2nd floor.  From the beginning of December we should start to regain the 1st floor rooms for residents again.

The situation at Marina House is very positive, however our soi is looking a little bare as a lot of the plant life has died off.  Our primary concern is our living environment and making sure that our residents have clean homes and internal communal areas.  Our riverside decking has been a life raft for numerous animals, motorbikes and washing machines.  This has a moderately damaging effect on the decking, but once we have cleared the 1st floor and repaired and internal damage we will be working on our outside environment.  In the meantime it is still very serviceable and our plants have, mostly, survived the flooding.

There is, however, a slight caveat in all this positiveness and that is that we are due another high-tide during the 24th-27th of this month.  This is why we feel that we can't offer any 1st floor rooms until December.

We are working closely with Marina House's owner and his family to work out how we can improve Marina House moving forward and there will be more news here once we have confirmed what we will be doing.  Also we have a lot of photos of the flooding that we will publish on this site at some point soon.  For the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact us for more information about our rooms.
